What's in a Score?


Have you ever heard of an Energy Performance Score, or EPS, for a house?

With the rising costs of utility bills and the need to limit our carbon footprint...wouldn't it be nice to know how homes stack up? Well...now you can, thanks to the Energy Trust of Oregon! The Energy Trust is an Independent non-profit organization dedicated to help residents use less energy and manage costs. They conduct tests and calculate the data based on a homes size, air leakage and ventilation, insulation, windows, heating and cooling systems, water heating, lighting, major appliances and standard operating conditions.

The report shown here is one that has been preformed by the Energy Trust for Lot #5 at Alpine View. This home will use 21% LESS energy than a typical, brand new, code built home! Yes, you read it correct...21%!!! And even more impressive is what the annual or monthly energy costs will be. The Energy Trust estimates that the annual combined NW Natural & PGE costs to be $1,290 or $108 a month!

Now, keep in mind that only a small portion of the home builders are building to this level. These high standards of construction are part of the Arbor Difference. We are building quality homes that will be sustainable for the future and economical to own & operate now.

Arbor Custom Homes has begun excavating lots 14 & 20 at Indigo Ridge for two new floorplans.

Lot 14 will be a Sablewood American. This 2,865 sqft home is based on the very popular garage under floorplan and will be ready for move in Late January 2012. 

Lot 26 is a Middleton American and is 2,432 sqft. This home will back to a protected green belt and feature a den/office on the main and upstairs will be 3 bedrooms & a bonus/media room. Move in will be around the Middle of January 2012.
